Recipe: rice and sugar snaps

Recently I have bought the Baeba rice and pasta cooker. When searching for recipes on the internet, all I found were some recipes that made a meal in multiple stages. That´s not what I am going to do: I want an easy, all-in-one recipe.

Ingredients:
3 tbs rice
hot water until mark 2 of the blending bowl
a small hand full of sugar snaps
1 tbs oil

Preparation method
Put water in the steam heating compartment until mark 3 of the blending bowl
Put the rice and pasta cooker in the blending bowl. Then fill it with the rice and put the sugar snaps on top. Then put the hot water in the rice and pasta cooker.
Steam.
Blend the rice with the sugar snaps, a small part of the cooking fluid and a tablespoon oil.

Recipe: banana

If there is one thing you shouldn't cook in a babycook, it's a banana. It turns into a bit of a slimy mess. Our moms used to puree it using a fork. Has worked pretty well for more than 100 years. Almost no dishes and babies love it! Keep it simple when you can, parenting can be hard enough.

Recipe: pumpkin and potato puree

This is the first recipe I made for my little one. And he even ate it! And on top of that: it is an easy recipe as well.

Ingredients
For two large portions
  • Pieces of pumpkin. I used some frozen ones that my supermarket sells. 
  • Small potato 
  • Potential: a tablespoon of butter or olive oil. 
Preparation method
Put water in the steam heating compartment until mark 3 of the blending bowl
Put the (frozen) pumpkin pieces in the cooking basket first. Fill the basket about 2/3.
On top of this put the potatoes, shelled and thinly sliced.
Steam
Puncture with a fork to check doneness.
Drain
Put everything in the blending bowl and blend.
Add some water or oil/butter
Taste

And feed to your baby!

In case you're new to the Babycook, a quick demo is just what you may need. This film shows exactly how the machine works. When I use it, I don't put the cover in the blending bowl when blending. In fact, I have never used the cover even once! It seems pretty useless to me.

Recipe: mango

A real favorite here at home because of the sweet flavor.



Ingredients
  • 1 or 2 ripe mangos 
Preparation method
Put water in the blending bowl until mark 1. Put it in the steamer compartment.
Peel the mango and slice it into chunks. Put in the basket and hang the basket in the steamer compartment.
Steam.
Drain, do not save the juices.
Blend.

Done!
